Dr Chris Spencer
MB ChB FRANZCOG
Chris has a strong reputation as an experienced, supportive and caring obstetrician here in Christchurch. He has been working as a private obstetrician since 2017 and has an excellent relationship with local LMC midwives. Chris is passionate about providing the best possible care to facilitate an optimal pregnancy experience and delivery outcome for expectant mothers.
Chris has a special interest in intrapartum obstetrics, ranging from promotion of normal labour and birth to optimal management of emergencies. He has widely acknowledged expertise in operative vaginal delivery and caesarean section. Chris especially looks forward to forming a trusting and confident relationship with pregnant women and their families.
Away from work Chris spends most of his time with his wife and two boys and family life keeps him happily busy.
Dr Lisa Rofe
BMLSc MBChB DipOBS FRANZCOG
Lisa is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist offering full pregnancy care. With years of experience in high risk obstetrics, Lisa works closely with women and their LMC’s to ensure they have the best pregnancy journey possible. She particularly enjoys building relationships with the women she cares for, and their support team, to enable her to provide individualised antenatal care.
Lisa undertook her specialist training in Christchurch and continues to work as a Specialist at Christchurch Women’s Hospital.
Outside of work Lisa has two children who keep her busy, and she enjoys staying fit and the great outdoors.
Dr Fergus Adams
MRPharmS BMBS FRANZCOG
Fergus is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist offering full pregnancy care, office gynaecology and gynaecologic surgery. He is passionate about women’s health and believes that effective team based care produces the best results.
Fergus also works as a Consultant at Christchurch Women’s Hospital, where he has a role as an advanced laparoscopic surgeon and obstetrician. Having trained in Christchurch, Fergus has developed an excellent rapport with many local General Practitioners and LMC midwives. His particular area of interest in obstetrics is optimising delivery outcomes and holistic care. He also provides gynaecology services at Femina Health.
Outside of work, Fergus is married with two young children. Fergus loves playing sports and stays busy managing his lifestyle block.
Dr Hayley Smith
MBChB PGDipOMG FRANZCOG
Hayley is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist offering comprehensive antenatal care. Her excellent communication skills allow her to develop strong therapeutic relationships with women and their whanau.
Hayley also works as a Consultant at Christchurch Women’s Hospital as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a focus on pelvic floor gynaecology. Hayley is passionate about offering client-centered care and maintaining excellent relationships with women and their support team. She is skilled in the management of high-risk pregnancies, including multiple pregnancy – which she has personal experience of as the mother of young twins! Hayley understands the importance of a holistic approach, and working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Away from work Hayley focuses on quality time with her family, as well as exercise and a passion for music.
